ETSI ISG IPE reported over 60 participants in its first nine months, focusing on IPv6 policies in major markets and the evolution of deterministic industrial networks. The group highlighted the US government’s goal to migrate 80% of federal networks to IPv6-only and emphasized SRv6’s critical role in 5G connectivity. Key findings from a recent gap analysis report underscore the need for ubiquitous connectivity, ultra-high bandwidth, and automation to support emerging business scenarios. The initiative continues to develop best practices and reference architectures to address IPv4 costs and international VPN complexity through global IPv6 adoption.
