New ETSI Telemetry Standard Improves Automation for better End-User Quality of Experience – ETSI

ETSI has released specification GS F5G-011, which defines a telemetry framework to replace traditional SNMP and CLI polling methods in fiber-to-the-home access networks. This new standard enables operators to utilize a push-based architecture that streams structured, high-frequency data from Optical Line Terminals to support real-time monitoring, AI-driven analytics, and automated troubleshooting. By adopting this approach, service providers can achieve better scalability and granular visibility while avoiding the performance degradation associated with resource-intensive pull requests. The specification includes proof-of-concept implementation examples to facilitate the transition toward optimized quality of experience for end users.
