ETSI Open Source MANO announces Release FIVE, 5G ready – ETSI

ETSI Open Source MANO has released OSM Release FIVE, a major update designed to enable end-to-end orchestration for 5G networks and Network as a Service. This release introduces a new micro-service architecture that extends orchestration capabilities beyond virtual domains to include transport networks, physical functions, and hybrid elements in a technology-agnostic manner. Key technical enhancements include full support for 5G network slicing, dynamic inter-datacenter connections across heterogeneous WANs, Service Function Chaining, and policy-based closed-loop control. The update also features a new GUI-based Composer, improved monitoring and dashboard tools, and significant gains in reliability and design-time capabilities to support complex network services.
