ETSI organizes the first TeraFlowSDN Hackfest during Network X in Amsterdam – ETSI

The ETSI open source group TeraFlowSDN is developing a cloud-native SDN controller designed to enable smart connectivity services for networks beyond 5G through programmable, disaggregated architectures. During a recent Hackfest, participants explored protocols like NETCONF, RESTCONF, and P4 while deploying Release 2 of the controller to onboard devices and establish L2VPN services using emulated IP and optical line systems. The project, originating from the EU-funded TeraFlow research initiative, aims to maximize alignment with standardization and ensure interoperability with ETSI Open Source MANO. This collaborative effort seeks to accelerate the adoption of SDN standards by fostering an open ecosystem for optical and IP networking.
