The European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking funds 35 projects across four streams to advance 5G evolution and 6G development through industrial leadership and international cooperation. Stream A focuses on evolutionary 5G mid-term systems with energy-efficient radio networks and adaptive Open RAN, while Stream B targets revolutionary technologies like novel architectures and secure ultra-reliable low-latency communications for future commercial adoption. Stream C develops reusable EU-wide experimentation platforms to validate 6G enablers, and Stream D implements large-scale trials in key verticals such as automotive and energy to foster viable business ecosystems. Additionally, two coordination actions support internal operations and promote global standardization efforts for the partnership.
