ETSI brings virtualization of telecommunication networks closer with announcement of NFV Release 2 – ETSI

ETSI ISG NFV has completed Release 2, adding 11 new specifications that define requirements, interfaces, and information models for interoperable NFV solutions based on the NFV Architectural Framework. This release expands the scope to cover critical functional areas including virtualized resource management, lifecycle management of network services and virtualized network functions, and fault and performance monitoring. The standards leverage open source community support and proof-of-concept evidence to ensure widespread interoperability while enabling agile, cost-effective network infrastructure. Industry leaders emphasize that this framework provides a solid foundation for future network virtualization, facilitating rapid service deployment and seamless integration with existing systems.
