ETSI has launched the City Digital Profile ISG to provide a standardized technology framework that enables cities to procure smart solutions that are extendable, configurable, and interoperable across different domains. The initiative aims to increase market confidence and facilitate the large-scale replication of citizen-centric systems in areas such as health care, building management, urban lighting, and transportation while ensuring security and sustainability. Initial work will focus on defining standards for cross-domain applications and addressing critical issues like data privacy in cooperation with partners like oneM2M. The group will hold its kick-off meeting in November to elect leadership and establish priorities for developing these standards.
