By providing a neutral venue with transparent governance, ETSI aims to facilitate industry-wide innovation and ensure standards evolve alongside the shift from hardware-based to software-defined communication systems. The move builds on ETSI’s existing experience in linking software and standards to better prepare for the evolving technological landscape.
