ETSI Multi-access Edge Computing Consolidates Phase 3 Work – ETSI

ETSI ISG MEC has introduced new APIs to enable MEC federation, allowing operators to share edge computing resources and service capabilities with application developers and vertical markets. Phase 3 achievements include updated Location and IoT service APIs, a study on park enterprise deployments, and new interoperability testing guidelines. The group continues to enhance its MEC Open Area with stable drafts and maintains the MEC Sandbox to provide developers with an interactive environment for testing APIs in an emulated network. Looking ahead, the working group will deepen collaborations with other standards bodies like 3GPP and industry groups such as GSMA to further consolidate open standards.
