Open Source MANO delivers Release ZERO ahead of schedule – ETSI

ETSI’s Open Source MANO (OSM) initiative has released its first code package, Release 0, a month ahead of schedule, integrating seed contributions from Telefonica, RIFT.io, and Canonical into a documented, running NFV Management and Orchestration stack. This release establishes a solid reference implementation for end-to-end service instantiation and serves as a foundation for an ecosystem of NFV solution vendors to rapidly deploy cost-effective solutions. The community, now comprising 30 members, plans to issue subsequent releases every six months, with Release 1 expected within six months to expand multi-VIM and multi-site support. This collaborative effort aims to provide a production-quality open source stack aligned with ETSI NFV Information Models to meet the evolving needs of service providers.
