Second ETSI MCPTT Plugtests reaches 92 per cent success rate for mission critical voice, video and data tests – ETSI

The second ETSI MCPTT Plugtests in Texas successfully validated 3GPP Release 14 standards for Mission Critical Push to Talk, Data, and Video through over 2,000 interoperability tests involving 31 vendors and a 92% success rate. This event marked the first global evaluation of MCPTT, MCDATA, and MCVIDEO implementations outside Europe, aiming to establish a single, interoperable standard for public safety LTE networks. Observers from nine organizations witnessed the testing of more than 300 vendor combinations, with results and specifications to be submitted to ETSI Technical Committee TCCE for formal approval. The initiative supports the critical communications industry’s goal of ensuring reliable equipment performance during crisis situations by feeding technical observations back to 3GPP working groups for specification refinement.
