Successful ITS Interoperability Testing: A New Step Towards The Deployment Of Cooperative Mobility Systems – ETSI

The first ITS Cooperative Mobility Systems PlugtestsTM, held in Helmond in November 2011, successfully verified the interoperability of ETSI standards-based Intelligent Transport Systems through face-to-face testing by 14 vendors. Supported by the DRIVE C2X and eCoMove research projects, the event demonstrated that secure vehicle-to-roadside and vehicle-to-vehicle communications are essential for safety-critical and traffic efficiency applications. Results presented at a subsequent workshop emphasized that interoperability is a prerequisite for car manufacturers to adopt these technologies, ensuring systems are both conformant and reliable for future deployment.
