The University of Oulu and the City of Sendai explored strategic partnerships in research and technology, with Sendai highlighting its Nanoterasu synchrotron facility and startup acceleration programs in health and semiconductors. University representatives presented expertise in microelectronics, 6G-enabled decentralized healthcare sensors, and microwave biosensors that utilize digital twins for non-invasive medical diagnostics. The discussions also covered the OYSTER Health and Life Science Incubator, a program designed to accelerate startups through structured validation and business development support. These talks reinforced ongoing cooperation between Finland and Japan, particularly within the University of Oulu’s 6G Flagship collaborations, to address shared societal challenges through advanced innovation.
