The Datacom Industry Association (DIA) has officially launched in Brussels to advance Europe’s leadership in secure and resilient data communications by bridging the gap between ICT innovation and vertical industry applications. Its governance model features specialized working groups focused on sectors like railway, energy, and healthcare, alongside cross-cutting efforts in systems, experimentation, and sustainability. With founding members including Huawei, the University of Essex, and Fortiss, the association aims to drive advocacy for networking research and accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge solutions for digital transformation. Notably, the DIA is offering fee-free membership for 2025 to encourage broad participation from industry leaders, SMEs, and researchers in shaping future R&D opportunities.
