The 5th FRMCS Plugtests in Sophia Antipolis achieved a 95.5% interoperability success rate across 96 sessions, validating Mission Critical Services (MCX) over 5G networks for railway and public safety applications. Testing focused on 3GPP Release 18 features including Adhoc Group Call, IP connectivity, and migration scenarios, with results directly feeding back into ETSI TS 103 564 updates. The event facilitated collaboration between vendors, regulators, and operators to harmonize standards essential for safe railway operations worldwide. Co-funded by the EU and EFTA, the next MCX and FRMCS Plugtests are scheduled for June and November 2026 respectively.
