European Standards Organizations CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI emphasized the critical role of standardization in translating innovation into market success during a conference focused on decarbonizing transportation. The European Commissioner for Research, Innovation & Science highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between European Technology Platforms and standards bodies to support the upcoming European Innovation Policy. CEN-CENELEC presented its STAIR document, which promotes an integrated approach to align standardization, innovation, and research to ensure clean transport technologies are fully adopted. This closer cooperation aims to remove trade barriers, foster economic growth, and guarantee interoperability and safety across the European Internal Market.
