New reports provide the first steps to coherence in Media Content Delivery – ETSI

ETSI has published the first three parts of Technical Report TR 102 688, establishing a framework to address interoperability challenges in multimedia content delivery across broadcast, IPTV, and mobile networks. The report identifies key requirements for content providers and regulators while highlighting the need to resolve the fragmented standards landscape that currently hinders commercial deployment. Future work by the Media Content Delivery Technical Committee will focus on defining specific architectures, formats, and protocols to ensure seamless cross-platform service. This standardization effort aims to eliminate technical barriers, foster new business models, and build consumer trust in digital media distribution.
