The ETSI Open Source MANO (OSM) group has established its leadership structure with Francisco-Javier Ramón Salguero of Telefonica elected as chairman and plans to launch Release 0 within two months. This initial release will integrate and document code bases from Telefonica, RIFT.io, and Canonical to create a reference implementation aligned with ETSI NFV standards. The project will follow a six-month release cycle and utilize an End User Advisory Group of global operators to ensure the software addresses practical integration challenges with existing OSS/BSS systems. With 26 organizations now participating, the initiative aims to deliver production-ready code that influences industry standards through real-world deployment scenarios.
