ETSI’s 4th NFV Plugtests event broadens its scope with edge computing testing – ETSI

The ETSI NFV Plugtests event in Sophia Antipolis brought together 40 organizations and over 200 engineers to validate interoperability between Network Functions Virtualisation and Multi-access Edge Computing solutions. For the first time, the event featured sessions testing Virtual Network Function Managers and NFV Orchestrators from different providers, yielding positive results for operations like instantiation and scaling while identifying improvements for NFV specifications. The experimental MEC track successfully tested routing, application lifecycle, and APIs, fostering greater awareness of MEC-in-NFV standards within the community. Additionally, the onsite event significantly advanced NFV API Conformance Testing, allowing teams to identify and resolve 25 new issues in the test suites and finalize the validation of ETSI Open Source MANO Release SIX.
