On February 20, 2026, the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA) and Public Safety Communication Europe (PSCE) signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration on advancing 6G research and innovation for public safety. The agreement formalizes joint efforts to ensure future mobile communication systems meet the evolving needs of the Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) community through shared documentation, event participation, and cross-border operational support. Key strategic goals include embedding public safety requirements into 6G development from the outset and reinforcing initiatives like the European Critical Communication System to build resilient, mission-critical networks.
