Concurrently, the RAN group advanced its 6G radio study, TR 38.914, to 90% completion to guide migration from 5G and shape ITU-R IMT-2030 performance requirements. The Core Network group initiated four new protocol studies targeting completion in September 2027, while a cross-TSG session confirmed alignment for a Release 21 timeline announcement at the next plenary. These efforts collectively establish the foundational technical specifications and migration strategies for the upcoming 6G normative release.
