ETSI OSM Release EIGHT introduces a new Kubernetes-based execution framework for scalable distributed monitoring, enabling SNMP support for any VNF and future telemetry mechanisms. The release enhances high-availability resiliency through an improved VNF configuration layer and extends configuration flexibility to support hybrid scenarios with both Kubernetes and Linux containers. A new Angular-based graphical user interface provides an intuitive experience for production management, while updated plugins for Arista CloudVision and Juniper Contrail expand SDN interoperability. Additionally, the release simplifies package management through remote catalogues and has been validated through successful NFV&MEC Plugtests 2020 and remote hackfests.
