ETSI Open Source MANO announces OSM Release NINETEEN, bringing a significant modernization of its codebase – ETSI

OSM Release NINETEEN modernizes the codebase by updating Python modules to version 3.13, upgrading the Angular GUI framework, and ensuring compatibility with the latest Kubernetes and Helm versions. The installer now utilizes Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as the base operating system and includes updated dependencies to support future community needs. Development workflows are streamlined through self-contained repositories that eliminate complex Debian package requirements and provide dedicated Dockerfiles for easier testing and module replacement. Automated pipelines have been introduced to simplify point releases and run weekly stability checks that mimic end-user installations to detect dependency issues early. The OSM community also showcased these cloud-native orchestration advances at the November 2025 Joint SDG Ecosystem Day and the February 2026 SNS4SNS event.
